I picked the Presbyterian Minister and National Guard Chaplain not because of his spiritual beliefs; which I do admire. I have chosen Naismith because of his relevance in sports. I admire his innovations in coaching and safety,(credited with developing the football helmet); however it is for basketball I am wearing his name. I have no athletic ability or knowledge with the exception of changing channels. I am hoping the fact that he invented the sport of basketball will help me as I assist in Upward at Southside today.
